In Los Angeles for work or vacation and want to go birding but not sure where to go? Or perhaps just dreading facing trying to navigate the city traffic as you seek out target birds? Whether you want to look for a list of specific species or just spend a day enjoying some of the excellent birding Los Angeles, and beyond, has to offer then why not hire me as a private guide? 

A full day in the Los Angeles area offers a wealth of different possibilities. These might include: heading out to the desert for Bell’s Sparrows and LeConte’s Thrasher, climbing up into the San Gabriel Mountains for Mountain Quail and White-headed Woodpecker or a trip to the coast for Ridgway’s Rail and California Gnatcatcher I love creating itineraries and am happy to tailor a trip to your needs.

As well as a host of exciting west coast and California resident specialties, other possibilities include searching local parks for wintering or migrant birds or even searching out introduced local specialties like Scaly-breasted Munia, Red-whiskered Bulbul or Red-crowned Parrot.

There’s an incredible diversity of habitats to be found in Los Angeles and I’d love to share them, and the birds found within them with you.

My rate for a full day is $350 with an additional $50 gas charge if I drive you in my car.

The day guiding fee covers pick up from the Greater Pasadena Area, drop off and permit fees and includes participation of up to three birders.
