Black Sea Raptor Tour - September 5-16, 2025

Georgia is a place that I have been itching to get back to since my visit there back in 2018 for the Batumi Bird Festival and now you have the chance to join me on my Raptours Black Sea Raptor Tour.

Georgia is a wonderful country with friendly people, delicious food and wine and stunning scenery.

The tour will take in two locations: Batumi, which is perched on the Black Sea and hosts one of the most outstanding migration spectacles in the world. Like a Cape May on steroids, the migration around the Black Sea is spectacular with an incredible diversity of birds. It’s one of just a handful of million bird raptor watch sites in the world.

The second is Svaneti. Here in the picturesque Greater Caucasus we will enjoy breathtaking scenery, UNESCO World Heritage Sites and some of the spectacular bird species that call the area home: Greater Rosefinch, Fire-fronted Serin and Caucasian Snowcock.

For more details visit the Raptours Website (here). You can read my blog post about my 2018 visit to Batumi on my old blog (here).

Thanks to Alexander Rukhaia for the scenic photos and those of the Greater Rosefinch and Honey Buzzard.
